The telescoping cylinder within cylinder design permits expansion or contraction

Appleton™ UNY, UNF, and UNL explosionproof and dust‑ignitionproof unions are used for joining conduit and connecting conduit to enclosures. They facilitate modifications and permit the removal of enclosures without turning or removing conduit. They are also available as expansion unions, which compensate for the expansion and contraction of conduit.
